Councilman, city paving the way

The Klamath County Museum Advisory Board would like to thank the city of Klamath Falls and specifically Councilman Bill Adams for purchasing the property at 39 Main St. The efforts of Mr. Adams, by first working to gain the Downtown Urban Redevelopment Advisory Committee’s endorsement and then strongly endorsing the purchase before the city council, have provided an invaluable service to the County Museum system, specifically the integrity of the Baldwin Hotel Museum, which is immediately to the west. The Museum Advisory Board has for some time had increasing concerns over the deterioration of the adjacent property, known as the Green building. Occupancy of the building, its much deteriorated condition, the possibility of fire not only taking it, but also spreading to the historic Baldwin Hotel have all been topics of ongoing concern. Thank you Councilman Bill Adams and the city of Klamath Falls for paving the way to a higher and better use of the property, which are the subject of ongoing discussions between the county and the city now. Rich Touslee Chairman County Museum Advisory Board
