In anticipation of a replacement, on December 1st the passenger shelter at Wal-Mart was removed by the City of Klamath Falls Parks Department to be relocated at Moore Park Marina 2. Basin Transit Service Board of Directors donated this passenger shelter so it could be used to provide park visitors protection from wind, rain, and snow. The old unit has served BTS well for approximately 20 years in various locations and will now be replaced by a new shelter purchased with an ARRA Stimulus Grant funds for $ 19,990. Installation of the new shelter is schedule for mid-December. Until the new unit arrives the Wal-Mart location will be served by two smaller temporary passenger shelters.
