In anticipation of a replacement, the passenger shelter at Walmart was removed on Dec. 1 by the Klamath Falls Parks Department to be relocated at Moore Park Marina No. 2. The Basin Transit Service board of directors donated this passenger shelter so it could be used to provide park visitors protection from wind, rain, and snow. The old unit has served BTS well for about 20 years in various locations and will now be replaced by a new shelter purchased with $19,990 in ARRA Stimulus Grant funds. Installation of the new shelter is scheduled for mid-December. Until the new unit arrives the Walmart location will be served by two smaller temporary passenger shelters.
