Gene and Sharon Culver 50th anniversary

Gene Culver and Sharon Pavlin Culver will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by going out and having a quiet dinner in Klamath Falls. They were married on Dec. 27, 1959, in Vancouver, Wash., and have lived in Klamath Falls since 1960. Both are retired, but are still working on their ranch on Reeder Road, which they bought in 1971. Gene is a former mechanical engineer department chairman and associate director of the geo heat center at Oregon Institute of Technology, and is still on call on a part-time basis at the center. For nine years prior to their marriage, Sharon was a trampoline acrobat, starting when she was 12 years old and later performing professionally. Prior to retiring, she worked part time in retail sales. From 1961 to 1969, they were the head residents at the dorm on the OIT campus. Their ranching keeps them “pretty busy.” Sharon also plays bridge and Gene also keeps up on geothermal heating. Their daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jim Doherty, live in Boardman, Ore. They also have one grandchild, Bryce Doherty.
