Vernie and Phyllis Arant — 60th anniversary

Vernie Arant and Phyllis Arant (Wilcher) will soon celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on March 2, 1950, and both lived in Klamath County for more than 60 years before moving to Battleground, Wash. Vernie retired from the Southern Pacific Railway in 1988 and Phyllis retired from the Klamath County School District in 1989. Their children are Gregory Arant of Vancouver, Wash., and Glenda Smith of Golden Valley, Ariz. Their son Gordon Arant and his wife, Marlas, and Gregory’s wife, Connie, have passed away. They also have nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
