Tulelake FFA Excels at Sectional Speaking Competition

The Intermountain FFA Section Speaking contest was held on February 17th at Lassen College. Tulelake FFA exceeded expectations by getting first in every contest they competed in. The Prepared Speaking event requires a 6 to 8 minute speech about agriculture or FFA. Karra Mahan placed 3rd and German Marquez placed 1st. Extemporaneous is an event that qives competitors 30 minutes to wright a 4 to 6 minute speach. We had three speakers with Michelle Rupert placing 4th, Kelsey King placing 2nd, and Lexie Greenbank placing 1st. The Job Interview event puts FFA competitors through an actual 10 minute interview and requires a resume and a letter of applications. Tulelake had three Job Interview competitors with Ethan Herman placing 8th and Laura Plass placing 1st. Only first year members can compete in the Creed competion and competitors are required to recite the National FFA Creed and answer questions about it. We had two Creed speakers with Logan Herman placing 5th and Derek Wood placing 1st. The Competitors that placed 3rd and higher move on to Regions which are held on March 17th at Chico College. We wish them the best of luck and hope they exceed expectation yet again.
