Bill & Maryann Kelly (maiden name Honeymann) are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this August 22nd. They were married at St Marys Church, New England, North Dakota. Bill retired from Burlington Northern and Maryann has been a stay at home mom. They have lived in Klamath County for the last 40 years. They are both members at St Pius X church, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters. They have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Ralph and Isabel (Sapiens) Welch celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 19, 2010 with family and friends at their home in Langell Valley, Oregon. The celebration with lawn games, a barbecue and fireworks was put on by their children: Steve and Julie Stenkamp, Klamath Falls, Oregon; Ralph and Teresa Welch, Sweet Home, Oregon; and, Joe and Debbie Hurlbut, Klamath Falls, Oregon. Ralph was born and raised in Langell Valley, Oregon. Isabel was born in Soledad, California, her family moving to Nyssa, Oregon for a short time, and then settling in Bonanza, Oregon in 1955. Ralph and Isabel met at Bonanza School in 1955, but didn't start dating until 1958, when Ralph came home on leave from the Navy. They then married in Reno, Nevada on June 18, 1960. Ralph and Isabel still reside at the ranch in Langell Valley where Ralph was raised. Keith and Vickie (Potter) Oglesbee, formerly of Klamath Falls, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to their favorite hideaway on the Oregon coast. Married at the First Baptist Church in Milton-Freewater, Oregon on May 3, 1980, they began dating the previous year after serving as best man and maid-of-honor at the wedding of mutual friends. After completing college, Keith entered the Army, and the Oglesbee's spent much of the following years living and traveling across the US, Europe and the Middle East. Keith retired from the Army in 2009 and is now employed with Raytheon as Middle East Regional Manager for International Business Development. Vickie is a fulltime homemaker and, like most present and former Army wives, is an expert at managing a busy and on-the-move household. They share a love of travel and family, and particularly enjoy their frequent visits home to Oregon to see family and treasured old friends. Ron and Jeanne Sandusky of Klamath Falls are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with one of their grandchildren Luke Sandusky of Beaverton, Ore.
They were married on June 12, 1970, in Klamath Falls and have lived here since.
Ron was formerly employed at Weyerhaeuser Co. and currently is employed at Collins Products and Jeanne drives a school bus.
Their children are Rusty and Pam Sandusky of Beaverton, and their sons, Kenny and his wife, Hope of Vancouver, Wash., and Luke of Beaverton; Terry Sandusky and his wife, Alyce of Klamath Falls and their son, Travis and his wife, Alice of Brookings and their daughter, Tyann of Klamath Falls; and daughter, Diane Dorigan and her husband, Tom of Medford.
Ron’s mother, June Sandusky, resides in Klamath Falls.
Ron and Sharon Poe of Klamath Falls celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on June. 22, 2010 Sharon Harrison met Ron Poe in 1985 right after he was discharged out of the Army, where he was an airborne rigger. They were set up on a date by her best friend, who became her sister in law Tammy Poe. They were married on June 22, 1985 at the Pentecostal Church of God in Taft, Calif. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Fresno Ca where Ron worked in Heating and Air conditioning until becoming disabled. In Dec of 1996, Ron and Sharon moved to Klamath Falls where Sharon worked as the Assistant Administrator of Linkville house Assisted living for 10 years before retiring. To celebrate their anniversary, they made a trip up the Oregon coast with special friends Rodney and Jeri Lang. Ron and Sharon collected sand from the beach and vowed to return the sand back to the beach on their 50th wedding anniversary. Francis and Virginia Plass of Tulelake, CA celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a traditional latin Catholic Mass and reception at St. Therese Chapel in Keno, OR on Sunday May 2, 2010.
In attendance were; Father Christopher Hunter, pastor from St. Thomas Becket Church in Veneta, OR; family from as far away as Post Falls, ID; and parishioners from Medford and Lakeview, OR and Mt. Shasta, CA, as well as from Klamath Falls and Tulelake.
Francis and Virginia were married January 7, 1950 at St. Mathews Catholic Church in Hillsboro, OR. They moved to Tulelake in 1957 when Francis began work at Newell Grain Elevators. They opened a two-way radio sales and service shop in Tulelake in 1964, utilizing Francis’ Naval electronics background and grew it to serve the Klamath Basin with coverage in most areas from Lakeview, OR to Yreka, CA. The business continues in family operation as Plass Communications.

Darrel G. Richardson and Margie Foster Richardson of Klamath Falls celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary during an open house reception at the home of their son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Patty Richardson on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
Among those attending the reception were their brothers and sisters, a few of their close friends and other family members.
Darrel retired from Modoc Lumber Co. in 1990 and Margie from F.W. Woolworth in 1989.
They were married on May 14, 1950, at First Presbyterian Church in Klamath Falls.
They currently spend their summers in Klamath Falls and the rest of the year at their second home in Quartzsite, Ariz.
In addition to their son, they have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Terry and Jann Leeper celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their condo in Mazatlan, Mexico in March with their children and many of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren vacationing with them.
Both Terry and Jann graduated from KU and were married on April 10, 1960 in Klamath Falls. They have resided here most of their married life, except for a period of time in California during Terry’s Navy duty. They are the parents of four grown children, Teri, Todd, Traci and Troy, 15 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters and a great-grandson on the way.
Their retired life is spent with their children, grandchildren, hunting, camping, traveling, enjoying car shows and their classic 1950 Mercury.
Roy Bain and Amy Bain, formerly Amy Hull, will be celebrating their first anniversary in Clovis New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Bain were married in Clovis New Mexico on May 7, 2009. Roy is currently a professional driver following a 12 year commitment to the United States Navy. Amy is currently a homemaker and mother of their 6 year old daughter Gracie. Amy is a native resident of Klamath Falls and attended school at Henley High School. The couple recently moved to Clovis to make their home. A private family celebration has been planned for summer 2010 in Klamath Falls.
Thomas and Dephane Welding of Klamath Falls are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend with their son Thomas Welding Jr., his wife Lisa and their children Cody, Cassy and Carrisa in Coos Bay.
They were married on April 26, 1960, and moved 15 years ago Klamath Falls from Livermore, Calif., where they owned and operated a hobby and craft store.

Ron and Jan met at a football game, where their romance began. They were married on April 23, 1960, in Colorado while Ron was serving in the United States Air Force. Once married, they moved to Lincoln, Neb., where all three of their children Joanne, Jennie and James were born. Joanne and James reside in Reno, Nev., and Jennie resides in Russellville, Ark.
Ron and Jan also have two granddaughters, one grandson, two great-granddaughters and one step-grandson.

LAKEVIEW — Perry and Lois Parmelee, who moved to Lakeview in 1978, are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary.
Perry’s analysis for lasting 55 years of marriage with the same partner is “It’s just something you work at.”
When Perry and Lois were married in 1955, Dwight D. Eisenhower was president, Winston Churchill was still prime minister of the United Kingdom, and “Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley and His Comets was just beginning to rock teenagers around the clock.
Since that time, they have become parents to 17 children, including three of their own, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Prior to their marriage, Lois worked at a hospital in California and Perry worked as a dairyman.
It was through his job that “he met a fella” and they got to talking and, as soon as he could turn his head, he was set up on a blind date with Lois.

Marvin J. and Dorothy H. Moore celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2010.
They met through friends in Camas, Wash., at the ages of 13 and 17 in 1937 while attending high school.
They were married in 1940 in Camas and shortly after Marvin joined the Army, serving for two years during World War II and being awarded two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Meanwhile, Dorothy went to work in the napkin department at Crown Zellerback Paper Mill.
In 1945, they moved to Coos County in Oregon, where Marvin started working for a cheese factory while Dorothy stayed at home and started raising their six children, Dorothee, Patricia, Judith, Jennie, James and John. Over the years, she also drove a milk truck, sold Avon products, wrote newspaper articles, and painted for the Myrtlewood Factory.
They lived in Coos County until 2002, finally settling in Klamath Falls to enjoy the rest of their retirement and travel and to keep track of their ever-growing family of 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

On March 17, 2010, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Honeycutt of Beatty, Ore., celebrated 65 happy years of marriage.
They were married in Reedley, Calif., during World War II and have lived in Beatty for 27 years after retiring from 30 years of construction work in Southern California.
They said they have enjoyed their many Oregon friends as well as friends in the American Cribbage Congress.
Their grown children are Patty Arp, Jeffrey Honeycutt, Cathy Self and Mike Honeycutt in Fresno, Calif. Another son, Dennis, has preceded them in death.
They said their two grandsons, Alan and Bryan Arp, are their “pride and joy.”

Norman Simonson and Evely Guisinger Simonson of Klamath Falls celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family members and friends at Steen Sports Park on Jan. 1, 2010.
The celebration was hosted by their daughters and included a special surprise guest, their son, who they hadn’t seen in 10 years.
They were married in Reno, Nev., on Jan. 1, 1960. Both were born and raised in Klamath Falls and have lived there all of their lives.
Norman is retired from the Klamath County Road Department and Evely is retired from the Klamath County Department of Public Health. Their children are LeAnn Mattson and her husband Marvin and LaDawna Simonson and her partner Tacy Carlin, all of Klamath Falls, and Wes Simonson and his wife Sherri of Fayetteville, N.C. They also have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
William A. Divine and Laura Mae Divine (Witte) will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
They were married at the First Methodist Church in Klamath Falls on Feb. 24, 1955, and have lived in Klamath Falls for more than 55 years.
William worked for 36 years at Weyerhaeuser Co. until he retired and Laura Mae was a bookkeeper at Moty and Van Dyke for 27 years until she retired.
They enjoy attending Veterans of Foreign Wars functions and traveling to Arizona.
Their daughters and the spouses of their daughters are Marlene and Kurt Erickson of Waterford, Calif., and Charlene and Brent Moulton of Klamath Falls, who said they wish to thank their parents for “the loving example they have always shown.”
They also have two grandchildren — Andrea Reynolds and her husband, David, and Amanda Erickson and two great-grandchildren Ruby and Ava.

David was a salesman in the fly-fishing industry until retiring in 1988 following an auto accident with a drunk driver.
Sherry worked at Weyerhaeuser Co. prior to retiring when she married David.
They lived on Bainbridge Island in Washington before moving to Klamath County in 1990.
They volunteer for the SMART (Start Making A Reader Today) program, reading at Chiloquin Elementary School, and are actively involved in Chiloquin Christian Center.
Their children are Sgt. Mike Carpenter, who is serving in Iraq, and his wife Kari of Colorado Springs, Colo., Monique Stringer and her husband Mike of Roseburg, Ore., and their five children, and Rhea Bias and her husband of Roseburg and their two children.

They were married on March 2, 1950, and both lived in Klamath County for more than 60 years before moving to Battleground, Wash.
Vernie retired from the Southern Pacific Railway in 1988 and Phyllis retired from the Klamath County School District in 1989.
Their children are Gregory Arant of Vancouver, Wash., and Glenda Smith of Golden Valley, Ariz. Their son Gordon Arant and his wife, Marlas, and Gregory’s wife, Connie, have passed away.
They also have nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Gene is a former mechanical engineer department chairman and associate director of the geo heat center at Oregon Institute of Technology, and is still on call on a part-time basis at the center.
For nine years prior to their marriage, Sharon was a trampoline acrobat, starting when she was 12 years old and later performing professionally. Prior to retiring, she worked part time in retail sales.
From 1961 to 1969, they were the head residents at the dorm on the OIT campus.
Their ranching keeps them “pretty busy.” Sharon also plays bridge and Gene also keeps up on geothermal heating.
