Lori and Chris Robb would like to announce the birth of an angel, their daughter Shelby. She was born on the fourth of March healthy and happy by Dr.Johnson and his staff at Sky Lakes Birthing Center. She was 6lbs, 2.8 ounces, and in perfect health. Baby and Mother are now recovering and resting in Klamath Falls, and preparing for a long life ahead. After 9 months of preparation, baby Shelby is happy to make here first public appearance, and Lori is feeling much better today as she is now a few pounds lighter, a few inches thinner, while also being able to see her new shoes again. All are doing extremely well. She was met at the Birthing center and will be close to her Grandmother Karen, her cousins Kayla and Andy, friends, and family. Lori and Chris thank everyone for their kindness, understanding, and help. Shelby would like to thank everyone for the new duds and warm blankets, she likes them very much.
Robert and Valerie Stone(Hartin) will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010.
They were married on March 9, 1980 at the Baptist Church, in Tulelake, Calif. They have lived their life together in Klamath Falls for the past 30 years.
Robert worked at Sturdi-Craft until retiring in 1996 and Valerie worked at the Klamath County Convalescent Center until retiring in 1988. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, and attending functions at the American Legion, where Robert runs Karaoke. They are members of the First Baptist Church, in KLamath Falls. Together, they have raised one daughter (Misty) and eight children (James, Starr, Tadd, Destiny, Robert Jr., Kim, Lori, and Dava), from previous marriages. They have 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Robert is a talented woodworker and enjoys his garden in the summertime. Valerie enjoys music, going to the movies, and spending time with her grandkids.

The Intermountain FFA Section Speaking contest was held on February 17th at Lassen College. Tulelake FFA exceeded expectations by getting first in every contest they competed in. The Prepared Speaking event requires a 6 to 8 minute speech about agriculture or FFA. Karra Mahan placed 3rd and German Marquez placed 1st. Extemporaneous is an event that qives competitors 30 minutes to wright a 4 to 6 minute speach. We had three speakers with Michelle Rupert placing 4th, Kelsey King placing 2nd, and Lexie Greenbank placing 1st. The Job Interview event puts FFA competitors through an actual 10 minute interview and requires a resume and a letter of applications. Tulelake had three Job Interview competitors with Ethan Herman placing 8th and Laura Plass placing 1st. Only first year members can compete in the Creed competion and competitors are required to recite the National FFA Creed and answer questions about it. Drake Fairbanks and Rachel Davis, currently of Klamath Falls, Oregon were married at the Box R Ranch near Ashland, Oregon on August 22, 2009.
Rachel Davis, the daughter of John and Sue Davis of Anchorage, Alaska, was born and raised in Anchorage and graduated from Dimond High School in 1999. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and graduated with a Paralegal Certificate and Associates of Arts degree. She currently works as a paralegal assisting with family law, probate and bankruptcy cases. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, hiking, snowboarding, and camping.
Drake Fairbanks, the son of Grant and Debbie Fairbanks of Bethel, Alaska was born and raised in Bethel and graduated from Bethel Regional High School in 2001. In 2004-2005 he attended the University of Alaska Anchorage majoring in civil engineering while playing basketball. On Jan. 25, CASA for Children of Klamath County, a nonprofit program that trains advocates for foster children, welcomed three new Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers. They are shown here with Klamath County Circuit Court Judge Cameron Wogan, second from right, and are, from left, John Lake, Kadance Connolly and Allison Gruener-Smith. They completed the winter CASA Certification Training and were sworn in by Judge Wogan as officers of the court. CASA volunteers are a voice of the child in court. CASA children spend less time in foster care, receive more services and have more success in school. Phyllis “Bug” Tucker will be turning 100 years old.
She currently resides at Eldorado Heights Assisted Living.
She was born in Kerby, Ore., on March 4, 1910.
“Bug” is her mother’s nickname for her (it was shortened from “Honey Bug”).
She was married in 1930 to Bo Tucker. They lived in Poe Valley, where they farmed and grew potatoes until 1950 when they moved to Cottage Avenue in Klamath Falls.
“Bug” had one brother and sister and is the baby in the family. She also has two daughters — one is Jane Demetrakos, who lives in Klamath Falls and visits with her mother frequently — five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She likes to garden, travel and take care of her family.

Air National Guard Airman Megan Weitzel graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
She completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
She also earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Weitzel is the daughter of Gary and Deborah Weitzel of Klamath Falls and a 2009 graduate of Klamath Union High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Jordan Long, the daughter of Susan Morton of Klamath Falls and Richard Long, Jr. of Klamath Falls, recently completed the Marine Corps Basic Enlisted Supply Course.
During the course with Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools Training Command, Camp Lejeune, N.C., she learned to use supply publications and catalogs, general accounting, and the basics of naval correspondence.
Long is a 2009 graduate of Klamath Union High School and joined the Marine Corps in July 2009.

Norman Simonson and Evely Guisinger Simonson of Klamath Falls celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family members and friends at Steen Sports Park on Jan. 1, 2010.
The celebration was hosted by their daughters and included a special surprise guest, their son, who they hadn’t seen in 10 years.
They were married in Reno, Nev., on Jan. 1, 1960. Both were born and raised in Klamath Falls and have lived there all of their lives.
Norman is retired from the Klamath County Road Department and Evely is retired from the Klamath County Department of Public Health. Their children are LeAnn Mattson and her husband Marvin and LaDawna Simonson and her partner Tacy Carlin, all of Klamath Falls, and Wes Simonson and his wife Sherri of Fayetteville, N.C. They also have seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

William A. Divine and Laura Mae Divine (Witte) will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010.
They were married at the First Methodist Church in Klamath Falls on Feb. 24, 1955, and have lived in Klamath Falls for more than 55 years.
William worked for 36 years at Weyerhaeuser Co. until he retired and Laura Mae was a bookkeeper at Moty and Van Dyke for 27 years until she retired.
They enjoy attending Veterans of Foreign Wars functions and traveling to Arizona.
Their daughters and the spouses of their daughters are Marlene and Kurt Erickson of Waterford, Calif., and Charlene and Brent Moulton of Klamath Falls, who said they wish to thank their parents for “the loving example they have always shown.”
